Job summary

Ara Institute of Canterbury is seeking a dynamic Casual Tutor to join our Foundation and Pathways team, supporting Level 3 and 4 learners in Science, Literacy and Mathematics. You’ll deliver creative lessons and build genuine relationships with learners to keep them engaged.

If you are an experienced educator who can connect with diverse learners, manage classroom environments confidently, and make learning relevant, we’d love to hear from you. This is an on-site role at our Christchurch campus.

We're on the hunt for a dynamic Casual Tutor to join our Foundation and Pathways team, supporting Level 3 and 4 learners in Science, Literacy and/or Mathematics. If you're an experienced educator who knows how to connect with diverse learners, manage classroom environments with confidence, and make learning relevant, we'd love to hear from you.

• A talent for building genuine relationships with learners
• A relevant tertiary qualification
• Expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: Science, Literacy and Mathematics
• Experience working with young people and adults who may have faced barriers to education
• The ability to hold boundaries while maintaining a positive, learner-focused environment
• Creativity, humour, patience, and an engaging teaching style
• A passion for helping learners build confidence, capability, and pathways into further study or employment
