Job summary

Ara Institute of Canterbury is seeking a dynamic Casual Tutor to join our Foundation and Pathways team in Christchurch. You will support Level 3 and 4 learners in Science, Literacy and/or Mathematics, connecting with diverse learners and managing classroom environments with confidence.

Qualifications

• Talent for building genuine relationships with learners.
• Previous teaching experience—tertiary or secondary.
• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• Expertise in Science, Literacy or Mathematics.
• Experience with learners facing education barriers.
• Ability to set boundaries with a positive learner-focused environment.
• Creativity, humour, patience, and engaging teaching style.
• Passion for helping learners build confidence, capability and pathways.

We're on the hunt for a dynamic Casual Tutor to join our Foundation and Pathways team, supporting Level 3 and 4 learners in Science, Literacy and/or Mathematics. If you're an experienced educator who knows how to connect with diverse learners, manage classroom environments with confidence, and make learning relevant, we'd love to hear from you. In your cover letter, let us know which area/s you feel confident teaching.

• A talent for building genuine relationships with learners
• Previous teaching experience - either tertiary or secondary
• A relevant tertiary qualification
• Expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: Science, Literacy and Mathematics
