Job summary

The Wellington High Court is seeking a Scheduler to join the team in a permanent full-time role. The position focuses on creating and maintaining court schedules across High Courts in the region, allocating courtrooms, and coordinating judicial resources to meet workloads.

You will work with Caseflow Managers on scheduling issues, ensure efficient use of resources, and support continuous improvement of court operations.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience managing fixtures and scheduling.
  • Ability to allocate courtrooms and coordinate judicial resources.
  • Strong data input and reporting skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi principles and their implications.

Scheduler – Wellington High Court - Permanent Full-Time Position
Te Haeata/The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced caseload professional to join our High Court tīma. This is an exciting time to join, as you will play a pivotal role with us implementing new ways of operating across New Zealand.

The role is based at the Wellington High Court.

Ō Pūkenga/Skills And Experience

We are looking for someone with significant experience managing fixtures, and with scheduling attention to detail. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining court schedules to meet expected workload across High Courts in the region. This includes allocating courtrooms, working with the Caseflow Manager on the allocation of Judicial resource, co-ordinating daily operations of courts regarding scheduling needs, resolving issues, promoting the efficient use of judicial resources, and liaising with the Caseflow Managers on scheduling issues.

You Will Also Have
  • A working knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the implications of these for the work of Te Tāhū o te Ture – Ministry of Justice.
  • Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities to handle a diverse range of responsibilities with resilience to cope with unexpected situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, and highly developed emotional intelligence with an ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Experience utilising and maintaining internal systems to its fullest potential, ensuring accurate data input, smooth workflow, and comprehensive reporting.
  • Resourcefulness, practicality, and a systems-oriented mindset to optimise operational processes.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing business needs.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $67,066 and $85,567 based on skills and experience.
