Job summary

Ngāhinapōuri School in Waikato invites an experienced teacher to join the senior team and lead our Year 7-8 learners. We value teams that support students to stay curious and resilient.

Qualifications

• Must hold current teaching certification in NZ.
• Experience with upper-primary (Year 7-8) learners beneficial.
• Ability to foster student-led learning and independence.

Responsibilities

• Lead Year 7-8 learners with engaging, inquiry-based lessons.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and whānau.
• Support senior students' transition to high school while maintaining primary joy.

Looking for a school where kids can still be kids, and teachers are supported?

At Ngāhinapōuri School, our older students take care of our younger ones, our community backs us, and our staff room is full of laughter. We're looking for a great teacher to join our senior team in 2027 to lead our Year 7-8 learners.

Year 7 and 8 are big transition years. We need someone who understands this age group - teachers who can help senior students build confidence, think for themselves, and get ready for high school without losing the joy of primary school life.
