Job summary

Tungsten Saws Ltd in Taupo Central Waikato is seeking a Sawdoctor Assistant to join our expert workshop team. This full-time role supports diagnosing and repairing high-quality industrial saws for our manufacturing clients.

You will perform routine maintenance and sharpening, prepare saws for use, follow health and safety protocols, and provide friendly, reliable service while collaborating with the Sawdoctor and wider team. Ongoing training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in machine maintenance or repair.
• Strong technical aptitude to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow SOPs and health and safety guidelines.
• Positive, customer-focused attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Sawdoctor/Owner in diagnosing and repairing saw equipment
• Perform routine maintenance on saws, forestry harvester chains, industrial chipper knives including cleaning and sharpening
• Prepare saws for use by our clients, ensuring they are in optimal working condition
• Follow all health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
• Provide exceptional customer service to our clients, acting as a friendly face of the business
• Work collaboratively with the Sawdoctor and wider team to streamline operations
