Job summary

Novotel Queenstown Lakeside in Queenstown, NZ, is seeking a reliable Room Attendant – Self Checker to join our housekeeping team. You will clean guest rooms and public areas to high standards, change linen, replenish amenities, and ensure rooms are presented for arrival.

This role offers a full-time, rotating shift pattern with a minimum 30 hours per week and an hourly rate of NZD 29.10. We value teamwork, attention to detail, and a flexible approach to meet guest needs.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel or commercial cleaning experience is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A positive attitude with a strong work ethic and reliability.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning duties, including standing, bending, lifting and repetitive tasks.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors and storage areas to established cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Make beds, replace linen and towels, replenish guest amenities.
• Conduct quality inspections of cleaned rooms before occupancy, ensuring brand standards.
• Carry out scheduled deep-cleaning and routine housekeeping duties.
• Report maintenance issues, damage and safety hazards promptly.
• Safely use, clean and maintain housekeeping equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Handle guest laundry and lost property per hotel procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping storerooms and assist with stock control of cleaning supplies.
• Accurately update room status using the hotel's property management system.
• Ensure guest rooms, keys and hotel property remain secure at all times.
• Deliver friendly, professional and efficient customer service when interacting with guests.

We are seeking a reliable and detail-focused Room Attendant – Self Checker to join our housekeeping team. This role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and public areas to high hotel standards, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation requirements are consistently met.

Job Description

• Clean guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, storage areas and other assigned hotel areas to established cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Make beds, replace linen and towels, replenish guest amenities and prepare rooms for arriving guests.
• Conduct quality inspections of cleaned rooms before releasing them for occupancy, ensuring rooms meet Accor brand standards.
• Carry out scheduled deep-cleaning and routine housekeeping duties.
• Report maintenance issues, damage and safety hazards promptly using hotel procedures.
• Safely use, clean and maintain housekeeping equipment and cleaning chemicals in accordance with health and safety requirements.
• Handle guest laundry and lost property in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping storerooms and assist with stock control of cleaning supplies and amenities.
• Accurately update room status using the hotel's property management systems.
• Ensure guest rooms, keys and hotel property remain secure at all times.
• Deliver friendly, professional and efficient customer service when interacting with guests.
