Sofitel Wellington invites you to elevate your career as our Room Attendant, where luxury meets impeccable service in a 129-room property overlooking Botanic Gardens and Wellington coastline. You will clean guest rooms, service public areas, assist with turndown, luggage and laundry tasks, and maintain a spotless, welcoming environment while upholding Sofitel luxury standards.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms, bathrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to Sofitel standards.
• Carry out routine and deep-cleaning tasks including carpets, grout, and equipment.
• Assist with turn-down service, bed making, extra beds, and room setup.
• Maintain presentation, hygiene and cleanliness across all hotel areas.
• Respond to guest requests professionally with warmth and discretion.
• Operate and maintain housekeeping equipment and stock rooms accordingly.
• Support laundry duties, linen distribution, and deliveries as needed.
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.

Job Description

Sofitel Wellington invites you to elevate your career as our Room Attendant, where luxury meets impeccable service.

The ambassador should have an eye for detail, a passion for creating magnifique luxury experience for our guests and developing a wonderful team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms, balconies, bathrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to Sofitel luxury standards
• Carry out scheduled, regular, and deep-cleaning tasks including carpets, grout, shower heads, mini bars, air-conditioning, and cabinetry
• Assist with turn down service and support the teamwith bed making, extra beds, rollaway beds, cots, and accessible room equipment
• Maintain immaculate presentation, hygiene, and cleanliness across all areas of the hotel
• Respond professionally to guest requests, escalating where required, with warmth and discretion
• Use, store, and handle cleaning chemicals safely and economically in line with health and safety guidelines
• Operate and maintain housekeeping equipment with care, ensuring trolleys and storerooms are neat and fully functional
• Assist with laundry duties, linen distribution, stock replenishment, deliveries, and heavy lifting as required
• Report maintenance issues, defective equipment, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor
• Adhere to security, key control, and guest confidentiality procedures at all times

This role is Part Time (Minimum 8 hours per week) - Must hold full NZ working rights.

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe handling of chemicals
