Job summary

MGallery in Queenstown is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Attendant to clean guest rooms and corridors to luxury 5-star standards. You will be part of a team that supports guests with information requests and delivers warm, attentive service.

The role involves hands-on cleaning, replenishing supplies, and assisting with turn-down service in a fast-paced luxury environment. A great eye for detail and fluency in English are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months 5 star/luxury experience.
• Fluent English communication.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and good fitness for a physically demanding role.
• Eye for detail and high cleanliness standards.
• Self-motivated and autonomous working style.

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms, corridors and storage areas to upscale 5-star standards.
• Replenish supplies and advert materials in bedrooms and bathrooms as required.
• Report any lost property and defective equipment promptly.
• Carry out regular cleaning duties and maintain equipment to high standards.
• Support guests with information requests and service needs.
• Provide turn-down service and assist with blanket beds as needed.
• Engage warmly with guests to deliver five-star luxury service.

Job Description

A daily commitment to deliver service from the heart.

A hands on role with training provided, your shifts will include the cleaning of guest rooms to the expected standard of an upscale 5-star property.

You are friendly and engaging, with a real eye for detail. We are looking for team players and are able to work in a physically demanding role.

• Clean guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated.
• Ensure guest supplies and advertising material in bedrooms and bathrooms are replenished to the correct standards for the room type.
• Report any lost property following correct.
• Carry out programmed / regular cleaning duties as allocated.
• Ensure guest laundry is handled in line with Hotel policy.
• Use and clean equipment with care, reporting any defective equipment as set down in procedures manual.
• Ensure all department equipment is maintained to a high standard.
• Assist with regular equipment stocktaking.
• Ensure the security of keys and guest rooms at all times by adherence to security procedures. Report any suspicious persons or items to Supervisor.
• Understand the correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations and manufacturers instructions.
• Assist guests with any requests for information or service they require. Refer any requests out of your authority to your supervisor.
• Assist in providing our guests with turn down service.
• Clean balconies, balcony furniture and railings.
• Responsible for de-scaling shower heads, bleach grouting in bathroom and toilets and general upkeep of bedrooms.
• Help colleagues when necessary (extra beds, bed boards, make beds)
• Engage warmly with guests, using emotional intelligence and initiative to support in five star luxury service.
• Ability to work alone when required cleaning rooms.
