Job summary

First Rescue in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Inspection Specialist / Roadside Technician to join our team and deliver expert vehicle inspections and roadside assistance with outstanding customer service.

This hands-on role combines vehicle inspections, roadside support and technical expertise. You will work directly with customers, perform accurate assessments, and provide practical solutions when they matter most, while supporting the internal Roadside Team.

Qualifications

  • Qualified mechanic and/or vehicle inspector background.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
  • A current, clean NZ driver’s licence.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct professional vehicle inspections in line with company standards and SOPs.
  • Provide roadside services including jump starts, vehicle unlocking, fuel delivery and battery fitment.
  • Complete mechanical diagnosis where required.
  • Complete jobs accurately and within required response times.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Inspection Specialist / Roadside Technician to join our team and deliver expert vehicle inspections and roadside assistance while providing exceptional customer service.


This is a hands‑on role combining vehicle inspections, roadside assistance and technical expertise. You’ll work directly with customers, complete accurate vehicle assessments and provide practical solutions when they need them most.


You’ll also become a technical resource for our internal Roadside Team, helping share knowledge, support training and contribute to new service initiatives.


What you’ll be doing


  • Conduct professional vehicle inspections in line with company standards and SOPs

What we’re looking for
