First Rescue is a trusted provider of roadside and emergency assistance services, supporting customers across New Zealand and Australia when they need help most. As part of the wider Hub Services environment, we play an important role in connecting people, partners, and service providers through reliable, responsive, and customer-focused support.

Our focus is simple: delivering a seamless customer experience that gives people confidence in stressful or unexpected situations. Whether we are supporting a roadside breakdown, accident response, fleet partner, or corporate client, we are committed to service excellence, strong relationships, and practical solutions that keep people safe and moving.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Fleet & Asset Manager to take ownership of our fleet, equipment, assets and supplier relationships, ensuring our teams have the right resources to deliver safe, efficient and reliable service.

This is a hands-on and commercially focused role responsible for the strategic management and optimisation of First Rescue’s fleet and operational assets across New Zealand.

You’ll ensure our vehicles, equipment, tools, parts, consumables and branded assets are fit for purpose, compliant and ready to support our people, service partners and growing mobile service operations.

What you’ll do
  • Develop and implement fleet and asset strategies that support operational performance and future growth.
  • Manage First Rescue’s vehicles, mobile service vehicles, equipment, tools, parts and roadside consumables.
  • Oversee branded assets across our provider network, ensuring appropriate safety, compliance and brand standards.
  • Build and manage strong supplier relationships, agreements and performance outcomes.
  • Monitor costs, utilisation, service levels and asset performance, identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Support regional and mobile service expansion through effective fleet, equipment and fit-out planning.
What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who combines commercial thinking with practical operational expertise and can confidently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll ideally have:
  • Experience in fleet, asset, procurement, supplier or operational management.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with a proven ability to identify cost and efficiency opportunities.
  • Experience managing supplier agreements, pricing, performance and service expectations.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management capabilities.
  • The ability to turn operational information into practical action.
  • Experience in roadside assistance, automotive, transport, insurance, field services or a similar environment is desirable.
  • A current and clean driver’s licence.
Why First Rescue?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening the operational capability of a growing national business. You’ll have the opportunity to influence how our fleet and assets are managed, improve efficiency and consistency, and directly support the teams delivering critical assistance to customers every day.

If you’re a proactive and commercially minded fleet or asset professional ready to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
