Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Civil Design Engineer specializing in Roads and Transportation to join our Queenstown-based team. You will design and plan road networks, model traffic flows, and prepare detailed drawings and specs for infrastructure projects in the Eastern Cape.

The role requires strong knowledge of road design principles, traffic engineering, and project coordination, with a hybrid work arrangement balancing office design work and site engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng. or E.I.T. is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in road and transportation infrastructure design.
• Experience with road design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, PDS, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan new roads, upgrades to existing road networks, and intersection improvements.
• Develop traffic flow models, conduct traffic impact studies, and design traffic control measures.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, geometric designs, and construction specifications using industry-standard software.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national road design standards and local municipal requirements.
