About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan road networks, including geometric design, pavement design, and intersection layouts.
• Conduct traffic studies, capacity analysis, and safety assessments for transportation projects.
• Prepare detailed design reports, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Oversee the construction and rehabilitation of roads, ensuring quality control and adherence to project timelines.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and local authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with relevant South African transport standards and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation engineering and road design .
• Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and traffic modeling tools (e.g., Vissim, Sidra).
• Strong understanding of pavement engineering principles and materials science.
• Experience with project management and contract administration for road projects.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng) registration is preferred.
