Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead road design and stormwater projects in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role combines design work with project management, ensuring standards and timelines are met.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng with ECSA, and at least 6 years of relevant experience. Hybrid work arrangement is available, with travel for site inspections as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA.
• Minimum 6 years in civil engineering design, roads and stormwater.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Pavement Management software and hydraulic modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan road infrastructure projects, including geometric design and pavement design.
• Develop comprehensive stormwater management plans and drainage design.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, calculations, and contract docs.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for proposed projects.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and stakeholders through the project lifecycle.
• Oversee construction activities, provide technical guidance and ensure site quality.
