Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Recruitment Specialist to support the Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Service. This full-time fixed-term role runs to 30 June 2027, based in Hamilton.

You will steer the end-to-end recruitment journey for RMOs, guiding candidates and ensuring a welcoming, compliant onboarding experience. Ideal candidates will be highly organised, able to multi-task under pressure, and skilled in Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Must be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to switch between tasks and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; strong computer literacy.
• Demonstrated experience in HR/Recruitment, preferably in the medical field.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships at all levels.
• Capable of handling high volumes of work while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the full recruitment journey for RMOs from candidate screening to onboarding.
• Guide candidates through the recruitment process and welcome new doctors from day one.
• Ensure compliance with Medical Council standards and immigration/employment legislation.
