Job summary

Red Badge Group is seeking a Retail Security Guard in Milford, North Shore, Auckland to create a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff. You will blend security presence with front-line customer service, assisting visitors and supporting the Customer Services team.

We value professional presentation, strong communication, and the ability to engage with people from all walks of life, including elderly visitors.

Qualifications

• Current NZ COA Licence or the ability to obtain one.
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Professional presentation and a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Confidence engaging with a wide range of people, including elderly visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible and professional security presence.
• Conduct regular foot patrols and maintain a safe environment for customers, tenants, and staff.
• Collaborate with Customer Services to deliver an exceptional visitor experience.
• Assist customers with directions, information and enquiries.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies and medical events.
• Provide first aid when required.
• Monitor safety, security and loss prevention risks.
• Complete incident reports and site documentation accurately.
• Build positive relationships with retailers, contractors, centre management and the public.

Job description

Join Red Badge Group as a Retail Security Guard and play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming, and customer-focused environment in Milford, North Shore.

This is not your typical static security role. You'll be working closely alongside the Customer Services team, acting as both a security presence and a customer ambassador for the site. We're looking for someone who presents professionally, has a friendly and approachable nature, and enjoys interacting with people from all walks of life.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing a visible and professional security presence
• Conducting regular foot patrols and maintaining a safe environment for customers, tenants, and staff
• Working alongside the Customer Services team to deliver an exceptional visitor experience
• Assisting customers with directions, information, and general enquiries
• Responding to incidents, emergencies, and medical events
• Providing first aid assistance when required
• Monitoring for safety, security, and loss prevention risks
• Completing incident reports and site documentation accurately and professionally
• Building positive relationships with retailers, contractors, centre management, and members of the public

What We're Looking For

• Current NZ COA Licence, or the ability to obtain one
• Current First Aide Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills
• Professional presentation and a friendly, helpful attitude
• Confidence engaging with a wide range of people, including elderly visitors
• Ability to remain calm and professional during incidents and medical emergencies
• Physically fit and capable of being on your feet and walking throughout the entirety of each shift
• Reliable, punctual, and accountable
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
• Previous security, retail, hospitality, healthcare, or customer service experience is advantageous

This role offers shorter rostered shifts across Monday to Sunday, with:

• 7:00am - 2:00pm
• 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Availability across both shift patterns is highly desirable, must be available to work at least 1 weekend day.
