Red Badge Group is seeking a proactive Night Shift Team Leader & CCTV for our North Shore team in New Zealand. The role includes leading night staff, managing CCTV/control room duties, and ensuring security and safety during after-hours operations.

The position requires 1+ year of leadership experience, CCTV knowledge, and a NZ COA licence or equivalent. A flexible roster, weekend nights, and a clean criminal record are essential.

Qualifications

• NZ COA licence or equivalent leadership experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to make informed decisions and manage incidents.
• Knowledge of security best practices, health and safety and risk management.
• Must be available to work a flexible roster including at least 1 weekend night.
• Clean criminal record and physically fit for role.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand and age 18+.
• Full NZ Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of security guards during the night shift, ensuring a positive team culture and high standard of conduct.
• Be a visible and approachable presence, deterring theft and ensuring site safety.
• Act as the point of contact for site management, customers, and staff on all after-hours security matters.
• Cover CCTV/Control Room shifts alongside team leader shifts as needed.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, ensuring timely escalation and reporting.
• Manage shift handovers and provide accurate incident and operational reports.
• Protect assets and ensure safety of the facility.
• Promote and support health, safety, and compliance with policies.

Red Badge Group is seeking proactive, reliable, and people-focused individuals to join our North Shore team as a Night Shift Team Leader & CCTV. Be part of New Zealand’s leading independent security provider, known for its strong values and commitment to creating safe and welcoming environments. If you have a passion for great customer service, team leadership, and delivering safety during critical after-hours periods, then we want to hear from you! This is a full time role and the night shifts will be between the hours of 1900-0700.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate a team of security guards during the night shift, ensuring a positive team culture and high standard of conduct

• Be a visible and approachable presence, deterring theft, unauthorised behaviour, and ensuring site safety

• Act as the point of contact for site management, customers, and staff on all after-hours security matters

• Cover CCTV/Control Room shifts alongside team leader shifts as needed

• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, ensuring timely and effective escalation and reporting

• Manage shift handovers and provide accurate, detailed incident and operational reports

• Ensure the asset protection and safety of the facility

• Promote and support a culture of health, safety, and compliance with Red Badge Group and client policies

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous experience (1 or more years) in a people leadership or supervisor role, ideally within security, facilities, events, retail or hospitality industries.

• Previous CCTV or control room experience is required, and the ability to learn new systems as needed.

• Current NZ COA licence, or relevant equivalent leadership experience in the security sector.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build rapport with clients and teams from diverse backgrounds.

• Ability to make informed and critical decisions as needed and be able to escape efficiently

• Knowledge of security best practice, compliance, health and safety and risk management requirements.

• Must be available to work on a flexible roster which will always include at least 1 weekend night.

• Competency with incident reporting and documentation.

• Clean criminal conviction record and physically fit for the demands of the role.

• Eligibility to work in New Zealand and a minimum age of 18 years.

• Full Clean New Zealand Drivers Licence
