Job summary

Red Badge Group in Milford, North Shore, is seeking a Retail Security Guard to create a safe, welcoming environment and act as a customer ambassador. You’ll work with the Customer Services team to deliver an exceptional visitor experience.

Ideal candidates present professionally, have strong customer service skills, and can handle incidents calmly. Shifts run Monday through Sunday, with 7:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm blocks. Weekend availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current NZ COA Licence, or the ability to obtain one.
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Professional presentation and a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Confidence engaging with a wide range of people, including elderly visitors.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during incidents and medical emergencies.
• Physically fit and capable of being on your feet and walking throughout the entirety of each shift.
• Reliable, punctual, and accountable.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
• Previous security, retail, hospitality, healthcare, or customer service experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Providing a visible and professional security presence.
• Conducting regular foot patrols and maintaining a safe environment for customers, tenants, and staff.
• Working alongside the Customer Services team to deliver an exceptional visitor experience.
• Assisting customers with directions, information, and general enquiries.
• Responding to incidents, emergencies, and medical events.
• Providing first aid assistance when required.
• Monitoring for safety, security, and loss prevention risks.
• Completing incident reports and site documentation accurately and professionally.
• Building positive relationships with retailers, contractors, centre management, and members of the public.
