Job summary

Briscoe Group is hiring a Retail Manager in Nelson to lead day-to-day operations for Briscoes and Rebel Sport across two sites. Reporting to the Business Manager, you will develop the team, drive sales, and elevate customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role offers full-time hours Tuesday to Saturday, with opportunities to work across both brands and sites, developing leadership skills and delivering strong results.

Qualifications

• Proven retail leadership experience in high‑volume/big‑box retail.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing team through coaching, training and scheduling.
• Drive sales and customer service targets by leveraging the sales and service program.
• Implement and maintain loss prevention initiatives and audit compliance.
• Lead by example on the shop floor, providing feedback to drive performance.
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed and promote a positive safety culture.
• Maintain inventory integrity through effective stock management.
