Briscoe Group in Petone, Wellington, is seeking an experienced Business Manager for the dual-brand Rebel Sport and Briscoes operation. You will mentor and develop the management team and oversee both stores, balancing desk work with on-floor leadership to drive performance.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant retail management, strong leadership, and flexibility for a seven-day roster in a dynamic environment.

Are you an experienced Store Manager ready to take on a new challenge? Join our innovative team in Petone as a Business Manager.

This is a senior retail leadership role, similar to a Store or Branch Manager position, with responsibility for our dual-brand business unit, Rebel Sport and Briscoes. You’ll oversee the operations of both stores, ensuring their ongoing success, while mentoring and leading your management team to be the best they can be.

This role will suit someone that’s multi-talented - happy to be behind a desk or on the shop floor, someone that is a strong people leader with the operational retail experience to back them. If you excel in a dynamic environment and are ready to embrace greater responsibilities while honing your leadership skills, this role is ideal for you! Take on a pivotal position where each day presents new challenges and opportunities for growth.

This position is full time, working one weekend day per week.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

• People Management: Lead, mentor, and coach your team with passion to deliver a superior customer experience
• Sales and Profitability: Exceed sales targets while holding accountability for the Profit Centre's P&L
• Team Leadership: Actively lead by example on the shop floor, providing positive and corrective feedback to drive performance and development
• Compliance and Administration: Ensure administrative and audit processes are followed, maintaining compliance with company policies
• Inventory Management: Maintain the integrity of inventory through proven skills and effective management practices
• Training and Development: Promote, advocate, and support all company learning and training initiatives
• Health and Safety: Maintain a safe environment for our people and customers by actively promoting a "safety first" culture in everything we do

You Will Be

• Ideally tertiary qualified with 5+ years of relevant management experience, preferably in the retail industry
• A proven leader with experience managing a team in large format or multi-site retail businesses
• Able to demonstrate effective decision making supported by sound business acumen including creative, strategic, and analytical reasoning
• Supportive of your team through effective organisational, planning and communication skills
• A self-starter but people focused
• Motivated by earning the respect and trust of your team members
• Flexibility to work across a seven-day roster as and when required
