Job summary

Petone, New Zealand, Briscoe Group Limited seeks an experienced Senior Store Manager to lead the Rebel Sport and Briscoes dual-brand operation. You will mentor the management team across both stores, driving sales, profitability, and exceptional customer experience.

The role requires 5+ years in retail management, proven leadership across large formats or multi-site operations, and the ability to work a seven-day roster.

Qualifications

• Ideally tertiary qualified with 5+ years of relevant management experience, preferably in the retail industry.
• Experience managing a team in large format or multi-site retail businesses.
• Demonstrates effective decision making with sound business acumen including creative, strategic, and analytical reasoning.
• Supports team through strong organisational, planning and communication skills.
• Flexible to work across a seven-day roster.

• Sales and Profitability: Exceed sales targets while holding accountability for the Profit Centre's P&L.

• Compliance and Administration: Ensure administrative and audit processes are followed, maintaining compliance with company policies.
• Inventory Management: Maintain the integrity of inventory through proven skills and effective management practices.
• Training and Development: Promote, advocate, and support all company learning and training initiatives.
• Health and Safety: Maintain a safe environment for our people and customers by actively promoting a "safety first" culture.

Are you an experienced Store Manager ready to take on a new challenge? Join our innovative team in Petoneas a Business Manager.

This is a senior retail leadership role, similar to a Store or Branch Manager position, with responsibility for our dual-brand business unit, Rebel Sport and Briscoes. You’ll oversee the operations of both stores, ensuring their ongoing success, while mentoring and leading your management team to be the best they can be.

This role will suit someone that's multi-talented - happy to be behind a desk or on the shop floor, someone that is a strong people leader with the operational retail experience to back them. If you excel in a dynamic environment and are ready to embrace greater responsibilities while honing your leadership skills, this role is ideal for you! Take on a pivotal position where each day presents new challenges and opportunities for growth.

This position is full time, workingone weekend day per week.

You will be:

• Ideally tertiary qualified with 5+ years of relevant management experience, preferably in the retail industry
• A proven leader with experience managing a team in large format or multi-site retail businesses
• Able to demonstrate effective decision making supported by sound business acumen including creative, strategic, and analytical reasoning
• Supportive of your team through effective organisational, planning and communication skills
• A self-starter but people focused
• Motivated by earning the respect and trust of your team members
• Flexibility to work across a seven-day roster as and when required
