Job summary

JobSpace in Auckland is looking for a dedicated Retail Buyer to join our busy team. The role focuses on planning product ranges, negotiating with suppliers, and coordinating purchasing activities across a 30–40 hour week, including Saturdays.

You will manage pricing, promotions and stock levels while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and company policies. A strong eye for detail and excellent communication are essential.

• 2 years of relevant industry work experience OR a Level 4 or higher qualification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and select product ranges based on customer demand and market trends.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate purchasing activities to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Source products and negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery terms with suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Work with management on long-term business planning and sales promotions.
• Develop pricing, marketing, promotion, and product display plans.
• Analyse sales reports and customer trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, invoices, and inventory reports.

• Work closely with store management to plan promotions and seasonal product selections.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Retail Buyer to join our busy retail business based in Auckland. We are looking for a motivated, organised, and detail-oriented individual who can manage purchasing activities efficiently and contribute to the overall success of the store. You will
be required to work from Monday to Saturday with minimum 30 hours and maximum 40 hours per
week. You may also be required to work on weekends.

Salary will be negotiated based on proven skills and experience and is expected to range from $30 to $35 per hour.
