Mitre 10 Hokitika is seeking an enthusiastic garden department assistant to help customers with plant selections and gardening supplies. You will work across the garden section, sharing knowledge on plants, fertilizers, and hardware while delivering friendly, practical service.

The role is part-time (26 hours per week) with a schedule Thursday to Monday, reporting to the Retail Manager. Prior retail experience in a garden setting is preferred, and a flexible team player mindset is essential.

Responsabilidades

• Assist customers in the garden department and help them select plants, dry goods, and hardware
• Provide gardening advice and guidance on fertilizers, pests, gloves, and tools
• Support the Retail Manager and team to ensure excellent customer service and smooth store operations

Kiwis love to garden and we love to assist them with their gardening needs. We are looking for experienced retail sales professionals with green fingers and a customer-focused attitude. Your gardening passion may come from time in your own backyard or you may have undertaken horticultural training – either way you will enjoy helping our customers select the right plants, along with all the dry goods and hardware, whether it’s fertilizers and pest control or gardening gloves and a wheelbarrow.
