Job summary

JB GROUP NZ LIMITED in Whakatane is hiring Retail Assistants to join a busy operation. You will deliver friendly customer service, assist with store displays, handle POS transactions and help maintain shop floor presentation.

We offer full-time hours (minimum 32 hours per week) and a friendly, reliable team environment. Wage is NZ$25–NZ$27 per hour, depending on experience, with rostered shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service to all customers by listening and responding to customer queries in a confident and professional manner.
• Greet customers as they enter and leave the store, identify their needs and provide friendly, helpful service and product recommendations.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to support daily store operations and provide a positive customer experience.
• Scan and record prices of goods for sale
• Take payment for goods and services using point of sale machine
• Issue sales dockets, receipts and give accurate change
• Make sure there is enough change, wrapping and other materials needed at checkout.
• Count and record money received during the work day
• Operate a computer terminal to administer the store's financial transaction system
• Prepare store displays and ensure that products are accurately labelled
• Maintain the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the shop floor, displays and storage areas.
• Perform any other tasks required by the manager
