• Monitor the quality of food being produced across service periods.
• Estimate and prepare stock ahead of service and ensure hygiene regulations are followed.
• Adhere to storage conditions and fridge monitoring to maintain safety standards.

Smiley's Pizza & Takeaways Limited trading as Smiley's Thai & Takeaways in Westport is seeking up to two permanent Chefs who are experts in Thai cuisine.

To be successful in this role, you must have an absolute minimum of 24 months' work experience in commerical kitchens.

We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours work per week. The successful applicant must be available five days a week, including weekends and public holidays.

Remuneration ranges from $26 - $30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

The key duties of a chef include:

• Take responsibility for the Thai cuisine section of the operations, including the preparation, cooking, and service of a variety of dishes and menu items in accordance with quality standards and dietary requirements.
• Ensure that all ingredients are fresh and to a high quality, and supervise the stock to maintain an adequate supply of ingredients (including ensuring a sufficient amount of prepped food).
• Provide input into menus and dishes to ensure an authentic Thai experience.
• Monitor the quality of food being produced.
• Estimate and prepare stock ahead of service.
• Undertake and enforce hygiene regulations, including monitoring fridge and storage conditions.
