Job summary

Smiley's Thai & Takeaways in Westport seeks up to two permanent Chefs who are experts in Thai cuisine to join the kitchen team. The role requires a minimum of 24 months' experience in commercial kitchens and includes a guarantee of at least 30 hours per week across five days, including weekends and public holidays.

The remuneration ranges from $26 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months' work experience in commercial kitchens.
• Thai cuisine expertise and ability to prepare and supervise Thai dishes.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the Thai cuisine section of the operations, including the preparation, cooking, and service of Thai dishes.
• Ensure ingredients are fresh and of high quality; supervise stock and prep to maintain supply.
• Contribute to menu input to maintain an authentic Thai experience.
• Monitor the quality of food being produced across service periods.
• Estimate and prepare stock ahead of service and ensure hygiene regulations are followed.
• Adhere to storage conditions and fridge monitoring to maintain safety standards.
