Job summary

Millbrook Resort is seeking a Restaurant Manager for Kobe Cuisine, our Japanese-inspired restaurant. You will lead the front-of-house team, ensure exceptional service and seamless dinner experiences, and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced five-star environment.

Responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, training, stock management, and collaborating with the kitchen to maintain high standards. Arrowtown location with a permanent, full-time role and weekend/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant previous experience in a similar position in a busy five-star hotel/resort.
• Licence Controller Qualification completed.
• A current Manager’s Certificate is preferable.
• High level of communication skills (written & verbal).
• Proven ability and desire to continually provide superior customer service.
• Excellent management and organisational skills.
• Proven experience in stock take and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-of-house team at Kobe Cuisine and oversee daily restaurant operations.
• Manage guest feedback and drive service excellence by leading by example.
• Recruit, onboard, and train staff; manage stock and cost control.
• Collaborate with kitchen brigade to ensure seamless dining experiences.
• Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork and operational excellence.
• Flexibility with hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
