Job summary

Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities is seeking a Property Assessor to deliver residential property assessments across the Hutt Valley and wider region. You will identify issues, perform minor maintenance, and ensure properties meet health, safety, and building code standards, while engaging with tenants.

The role requires hands-on experience in construction/maintenance, strong customer focus, and the ability to work independently with a structured schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires hands-on experience in building construction or maintenance.
• Experience working in residential construction or maintenance roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of health, safety and building code standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct residential property assessments across the region.
• Identify condition-based issues and document findings.
• Carry out minor maintenance tasks and servicing (e.g., heat pumps).
• Engage effectively with tenants and build strong relationships.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and building codes.
