Job summary

Colwyn House Lifecare in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay, is seeking an Activities Assistant to enrich residents' lives with compassionate care in a warm, supportive setting. You will plan, organise and deliver activities, outings and community engagements, tailored to physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive and emotional needs.

Ideal candidates have prior aged care experience, strong communication, a full NZ driver’s license for van duties, and a genuine passion for helping people.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Full NZ drivers' license, and confidence in driving a van.
• A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
• A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver activity programs that meet residents' physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive and emotional needs.
• Plan, organise and deliver activities, outings, events and community group involvement.
• Work with the team to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment for residents and whānau.
