Job summary

Colwyn House Lifecare, part of Heritage Lifecare, is a 69-bed care home in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay. We are seeking an Activities Assistant to support our residents with engaging programs in a warm, caring setting.

You will deliver activity plans that meet physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive and emotional needs, organize outings, and work with the team to foster a welcoming community for residents and whānau. This role offers AM/PM and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for others, ideally in aged care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full NZ driver’s license and comfortable driving a van.
• Friendly, proactive attitude and desire to help residents.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate activity programs to meet residents' physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive and emotional needs.
• Plan outings, events and community group involvement for residents.
• Collaborate with the care team to maintain a safe, caring and engaging environment.
