Placements24 is seeking an innovative Research Scientist to join our Pharmaceutical Development team in Queenstown, New Zealand. The role focuses on preclinical research and the discovery and optimization of new drug candidates, working to advance therapeutic programs with scientific rigor.

You will design and conduct experiments, analyze complex data, collaborate with chemists, pharmacologists and toxicologists, and contribute to regulatory documents and publications.

Qualifications

• PhD required in a related field with emphasis on pharmacology or biochemistry.
• Minimum 4 years of drug discovery or pharmaceutical development experience.
• Strong design and execution of cell-based and biochemical assays; PK/PD knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret lead compound experiments for drug development.
• Use in vitro and in vivo models to assess efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetic properties.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology teams.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
