Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Social Support Specialist to support communities across South Africa. You will provide counseling, guidance, and resource navigation to individuals and families, using secure messaging, video, and phone to deliver services remotely.

In this autonomous role, you will assess needs, develop tailored support plans, maintain confidential records, and stay up-to-date on available social services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Professional registration with SACSSP or relevant body.
• Proven experience in social work, counseling, or support roles.
• Strong technical aptitude and comfort with digital communication tools.
• Excellent remote communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote counseling and emotional support to clients.
• Assess client needs and connect them with community resources.
• Develop and implement individualized support plans for remote engagement.
• Maintain confidential records and case notes using digital systems.
• Stay updated on available social services nationwide.
• Collaborate with the remote team and supervisors for service quality.
