Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Synthetic Biology, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in synthetic biology research, with a strong emphasis on engineering biological systems.
- Proven expertise in DNA assembly techniques, gene editing (e.g., CRISPR), and microbial fermentation.
- Experience with computational design tools and modeling of biological systems is essential.
- Strong understanding of metabolic engineering, protein engineering, or pathway engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills, critical for a remote role.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer novel genetic circuits, metabolic pathways, and microbial chassis for specific applications.
- Develop and implement high-throughput screening and characterization methods for engineered biological systems.
- Utilize computational tools and modeling to guide the design and optimization of synthetic constructs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including molecular biologists, chemists, and engineers, to advance projects.
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges in genetic engineering and bioprocess development.
