Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist with expertise in Pharmacology to join its drug discovery team in Queenstown. You will design and execute in vivo and in vitro pharmacology studies, evaluate pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, and contribute to preclinical programs aimed at advancing new medicines to patients.

Qualifications

• PhD in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or related life sciences.
• Minimum 3 years of postdoc or industry pharmacology experience.
• Experience designing in vivo studies and various dosing strategies.
• Proficient in cell-based and enzyme inhibition assays.
• Strong understanding of drug discovery and development processes.
• Excellent data analysis and scientific writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, perform, and interpret in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies.
• Evaluate pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of drug candidates.
• Develop and validate new assays to assess efficacy and mechanism of action.
• Analyze data, generate reports, and present findings to the research team.
• Contribute to research strategy and proposals for new projects.
• Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements for animal research.
• Collaborate with chemists, biologists, and other staff in Queenstown.
