Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a qualified Remote Geotechnical Engineer to join their team, providing expert analysis for mining projects across the region, including Queenstown. This role focuses on assessing ground conditions, slope stability, and underground support design, all managed remotely to support major developments.
You will analyze geotechnical data, run numerical models with the Rocscience suite or similar, and prepare comprehensive reports for safe mine infrastructure.
Qualifications
- MSc or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of geotechnical experience with mining applications.
- Proficiency with geotechnical analysis and modeling software (Slide, Phase2, FLAC).
Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and analyze soil and rock mechanics data.
- Perform stability analyses for open pit slopes and underground excavations.
- Design and recommend ground support systems for underground mine development.
- Develop geotechnical models using Rocscience software or equivalent.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports with recommendations and risk assessments.
- Collaborate remotely with mine planning engineers, geologists, and site personnel.
