Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking a Functional Analyst to support a cross-functional Value Stream across People & Culture services. You will provide 3rd level technical support, analyse requests, prototype and deploy features, and create knowledge content in a dynamic, Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience supporting and optimising payroll systems, ideally a Pay or similar enterprise payroll platform.
• Ability to analyse business processes, system requirements, data flows, and integrations to deliver effective solutions.
• Experience managing incidents, service requests, and user support through ServiceNow or similar ticketing platforms.
• Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills, with the ability to identify and implement practical enhancements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement and user documentation.
• Experience working across business and technical teams within complex organisational environments; Agile experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing 3rd level technical support and enhancement for a series of customer-facing, high-impact technologies
• Analysing incoming enhancement requests to understand their technical and business components
• Discussing, prototyping, testing and deploying new system features, changes or fixes
• Crafting and maintaining multi-audience knowledge content
• Engaging with business stakeholders of varying backgrounds, levels of technical knowledge, and awareness of Agile methodologies
• Participating in team planning activities to prioritise features and fixes
