Job summary

Ballance Agri-Nutrients in Invercargill is seeking a Reliability Engineer to partner with manufacturing teams to deliver a safe and reliable plant. You will design and maintain maintenance strategies using proven reliability methodologies to improve MTBF and MTTR.

The role requires leading structured problem solving, supporting asset lifecycles, and providing technical guidance on site. It is a daytime role with rostered nights and a focus on health and safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and demonstrated pragmatic application of reliability tools and methodologies.
• Experience leading structured problem solving techniques to resolve asset issues.
• Commitment to health and safety of self, team and environment.
• Able to work with heavy equipment and maintain physical fitness.
• Practical knowledge and understanding in the use of a CMMS; SAP experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Asset Maintenance Strategies with reliability methodologies to improve MTBF/MTTR.
• Support management of Asset Lifecycles and Asset risk via Improvement and Project Design, Action Plan development and prioritisation.
• Support on-site teams with technical guidance and precision tactics.
• Drive Defect Elimination and structured problem solving to prevent asset failures and production losses.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As aReliability Engineer, you'll work with our manufacturing teams to deliver a safe and reliable plant. Your primary role will involve:

• Design and maintain Asset Maintenance Strategies with proven reliability methodologies such as RCM and FMECA improving our overall MTBF and MTTR.
• Support management of Asset Lifecycles and Asset risk by participating in Improvement and Project Design, Action Plan development and prioritisation.
• Support the on site teams with technical guidance and precision tactics.
• Drive Defect Elimination and structured problem solving to prevent reoccurrence of asset failures and production losses

We are big on Health and Safety as we know we all have a collective effort in helping to get each other home safe. This role is primarily a daytime role, however there is a shared requirement for rostered nights along with some additional hours work to provide maximum plant availability.

• Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification (L5) or degree in related Engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated pragmatic application of reliability tools and methodologies
• Experience leading structured Problem Solving techniques to resolve Asset issues
• A good level of physical fitness and ability to work with heavy equipment
• Practical knowledge and understanding in the use of a CMMS, SAP experience will be an advantage
