About the Role

Tēnei tūranga: We’re looking for a motivated Registration and Licensing Officer to join our Occupational Regulation team. This team oversees a range of registration and licensing schemes including Electrical Workers, Licensed Building Practitioners, Immigration Advisers, Motor Vehicle Traders, Auctioneers, and Pool Inspectors. As regulatory needs change, additional schemes may be added over time. In this role, you’ll support the delivery of our licensing services by processing applications, responding to enquiries, and assisting with administrative tasks and project work. You’ll help ensure that licensing decisions are accurate, timely, and delivered to a high standard. While experience with one of our schemes (EWRB, LBP, IAA, MVTR) is preferred, it is not essential—we will provide full training and support to help you succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Processing registration and licence applications across our schemes, including some that may be complex
• Responding to customer enquiries and providing clear, accurate information
• Supporting the Registration and Licensing Team with day to day administrative tasks
• Contributing to process quality, efficiency, and meeting service expectations
• Assisting with project work as required

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience working in a regulatory, customer service, or administrative environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor information to different audiences
• High attention to detail, good judgement, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with databases or CRM systems
• Knowledge of occupational licensing schemes is advantageous but not essential
