Job summary

Royal New Zealand Plunket Trust in Queenstown, South Island, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Southern region in a permanent part-time 0.8 FTE role.

You will work primarily in Central Otago with home and clinic visits, delivering high-quality care to pēpi, tamariki and whānau across the community, including video visits as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Full clean New Zealand Driver's Licence.
• Postgraduate Certificate in Well Child Tamariki Ora or willingness to complete (company covers cost).

Responsibilities

• Perform home and clinic visits for pēpi and whānau across South Canterbury.
• Assess growth and development, provide trusted clinical advice.
• Deliver some care via video conference and foster strong community trust.

Pay rates for our Registered Nurses are between $66,222per annum($33.51per hour) to$94,842per annum($48.00 perhour) depending on experience.

Plunket Nurses assessthegrowth and development oftamarikiand aretrustedclinicaladvisors who walk alongside whānau.

You will meet with whānau across South Canterbury doing home and clinic visits and you will deliver some care by video conference across Te Waipounamu. You will foster trusting relationships in the community by adopting an approach to care wherewhānau feelconnected, included, safeandsupported to get what they need.Working alongside a highly motivated and experienced teamyou'llbe committed to delivering engaging care where whānau have a safe space to share parenting challenges and celebrate successes.

Working in the community during acost-of-livingcrisis means you will undoubtedly meet whānau who are facing significant challenges. Our clinical responsibilities co-exist with the need to deliver social support to ensurepēpiare being raised in safe and healthy homes.We offer6–12-weekorientationdepending on experiencewith ongoing preceptor support to help you find your feet.

Community Nursingrequiresa particular set of skills, you may start the day with 5 whānau booked in for visits, one might need to cancel, another might be late, and the last appointment might present significant concerns and take longer thananticipated. So, you will need to beresourceful,resilientand comfortable making decisions to ensure wemaintainahigh-qualityexperience and minimise risks for our clients.

We are confident we can give you great support with our experienced team - so we are open to both new graduates and experienced nurses.

It is vital that you enjoy working withpēpi, howevermost ofyour interactions will be with caregivers.Todeliver the right support, you'llneed to have exceptional active listeningskillsandbe able to ask questions tactfully. Working with whānau from allwalks of lifewill require you to beabletobuild trust and communicate effectively with different people.

With a stable team and experienced leader, we're well placed to support you if this is your first nursing role, but equally, if you are an experienced nurse, your insight and expertise will go a long way to supporting whānau to thrive and our team to grow collectively.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be a Registered Nurse
  
• Hold or be able to obtain an Annual Practicing Certificate
  
• Hold a full clean NZ Drivers Licence
• Have aPost Graduate Certificate in Well Child Tamariki oraor be committed to completing 12-month Post Graduate Certificate in Well Child Tamariki ora (we would cover the costfor this)
• Work close to home in acommunity-basedrole
• A Monday – Friday role, with the opportunity to work Saturdays and some flexibility to work aroundyou
