Job summary

Te Whānau Āwhina Plunket is seeking a Registered Nurse to support pēpi and whānau across Auckland, delivering evidence-based clinical care, education and health promotion.

You will conduct health and development assessments, support immunisation, and connect whānau with community services in clinics, whānau homes or other community settings.

A NZ Nursing Council Annual Practising Certificate is required; roles include full-time and part-time options with orientation and ongoing clinical support.

Qualifications

• NZ Nursing Council Annual Practising Certificate is required.
• Experience in child, family, community or primary/public health nursing is valuable.

Job description

We’re lucky to have the opportunity to meet with the majority of Aotearoa’s pēpi during their first five years. Join Te Whānau Āwhina Plunket as a Registered Nurse and help ensure every pēpi has the best possible start in life.

We have a range of full-time and part-time opportunities, with a mix of permanent and fixed-term positions available across our Auckland teams.

As a Plunket Nurse, you will build trusted relationships with whānau, providing evidence-based clinical care, support and guidance throughout the early years of their child’s development. You will work in partnership with families to understand their individual needs, identify their strengths and support them to achieve their aspirations for the health and wellbeing of their tamariki.

This varied and rewarding role includes conducting health and development assessments, providing education and health promotion, supporting immunisation, and connecting whānau with community services where needed. You may work across Plunket clinics, community locations and whānau homes.

Pay rates for our Registered Nurses are between $66,222 ($33.51 per hour) and$94,842 ($48.00 per hour) depending on experience

You will be a compassionate and confident Registered Nurse who is passionate about improving health outcomes for pēpi, tamariki and whānau.

You will also bring:

• A current New Zealand Nursing Council Annual Practising Certificate
• A commitment to providing culturally safe, whānau-centred care
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
• Sound clinical judgement and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a supportive team
• An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application within health practice
• A full New Zealand driver licence
• Confidence using digital systems to maintain accurate clinical records

Being an authorised vaccinator would be an advantage; however, we also welcome applications from nurses who are willing to complete the required training.

Experience in child, family, community, primary or public health nursing would be valuable, but it is not essential. We provide a comprehensive orientation and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role.
