Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Greymouth is seeking an experienced Infusion Unit Registered Nurse to deliver and plan intravenous infusion treatments for patients with cancer diagnoses and other conditions, in a permanent 0.8 FTE role (64 hours per fortnight).

You will work in collaboration with Oncology CNS staff and external specialists to ensure safe infusion services, provide leadership and education, and support patient self-management across the West Coast.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing Council of NZ as a comprehensive or General Nurse with a current APC.
• Minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience.
• Willing to work towards a relevant Post-Graduate Diploma.
• Displays confidence, assertiveness and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Provides management of infusion therapy in collaboration with local & external consultants.
• Provides management of infusion therapy in collaboration with Oncology CNS staff (West Coast).
• Oversees safe delivery of infusion unit services to West Coast patients.

About the Role

The Infusion Unit Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering and planning intravenous infusion treatments for patients with Cancer Diagnoses and other conditions.

The key deliverables are:

• Provides management of infusion therapy in collaboration with Health New Zealand local & external Consultant Specialists.
• Provides management of infusion therapy in collaboration with Oncology CNS staff.
• Oversees the safe delivery of infusion unit services to the West Coast patients.
• Provides leadership and development skills and knowledge on types of specialized medication infusion therapy.
• Works across the organization to deliver quality education and support that is patient focused and promotes and supports self-management.

You will be a Registered Nurse with a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. You will bring strong clinical skills, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to your practice.

• Registered with the NursingCouncil of NZ as a comprehensive or General Nurse with a current APC.
• Minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience.
• Willing to work towards a relevant Post-Graduate Diploma.
• Displays a high degree of confidence, assertiveness, and motivation.

• Achieved and maintains competency in MIV and CVAD Management. Completed or willing to complete EVIQ appropriate learning.
