Responsibilities

  • Provide intravenous treatment within the Medical Infusion Unit.
  • Meet appointment-based infusion schedules from Monday to Friday.
  • Collaborate with the Gastroenterology team and related specialists.
  • Contribute to an outpatient service environment and growing needs.
  • Support a small, efficient, friendly nursing team.

Salary Base $81,683 - $106,739 + KiwiSaver

Part-time 0.6 FTE vacancy (24 hours per week)

Fixed term vacancy till May 2027

About the role

  • The Medical Infusion Unit provides intravenous medical treatments to patients from a variety of medical specialties such as Neurology, Gastroenterology and Rheumatology.
  • Infusions are booked on an appointment-based plan, from Monday to Friday.
  • The unit is housed within the Gastroenterology Department which is home to the broader Gastroenterology team of consultants, specialist nurses for IBD and Hepatology, and the National Bowel Screening Program co-ordinators.
  • This growing department offers you the prospect of working in an outpatient service, and to be exposed to a different type of nursing practice.
  • We are a small, efficient and friendly team, who are looking for a new team member to help us respond to the growing needs of the community who require the treatments we provide.

About You

  • Current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand
  • You need to be friendly and calm, able to work independently and at the same time genuinely interested in the best outcome for both patient and team.
  • Current IV cannulation and infusion skills,
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
