Job summary

Presbyterian Support Otago is seeking a Registered Nurse for Holmdene in Balclutha on a fixed-term parental leave cover. You will lead a shift of Care Workers and Enrolled Nurses, delivering comprehensive healthcare to residents while promoting independence and quality of life.

Your role includes developing and evaluating care plans, making clinical decisions, and collaborating with families to support resident wellbeing. Start mid-December 2023 to July 2027.

Qualifications

• Be a New Zealand Registered Nurse with current practicing
• Have strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills
• Have good time management and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
• Experience in undertaking InterRAI assessment
• Empathy, compassion, and patience
• Ability to work well within a team
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Reasonable fitness and strength
• Experience in the care of older people is preferred, but not essential

Responsibilities

• Lead a shift of Care Workers and Enrolled Nurses to provide comprehensive healthcare to residents
• Develop, implement, and evaluate an integrated plan of health care
• Perform general nursing functions and ensure residents' wellbeing and safety
• Build trust, respect, and meaningful relationships with residents and families
