Job summary

Radius Care in Palmerston North is seeking a registered nurse for a fixed‑term 11‑month contract to support our residents in person‑centred care. You will complete assessments, care plans and monitor residents while administering medicines and assisting with daily activities.

The role requires an NZ Annual Practicing Certificate, strong reporting skills and empathy for residents and families. Aged care experience and roster flexibility are preferred, with a supportive team and ongoing training

Qualifications

• Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Computer literacy with concise reporting skills.
• People skills and empathy for residents and families.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts.
• 1+ years of NZ RN experience preferred.
• Aged care nursing experience preferred.

Location:

RadiusPeppertree, 107 Roberts Line, Kelvin Grove, Palmerston North

Hours of work:

Full time, 30 hours per week, over a rotating roster (which may include weekends and public holidays).

Duration

11 months, from 2nd November 2026 to 11th October 2027, to cover an employee who has gone on a period of leave.

About the role:

Gain valuable experience in person-centred care, and enhance your critical thinking skills. Complete patient assessments and care plans. Provide exceptional care, while evaluating outcomes for residents and their families. Monitor changes to residents’ conditions and behaviours. Administer medicines, and assist residents with daily activities.

Duties include:

Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documents

Educate and direct peers about possible side-effects of medicines

Monitor residents and initiate appropriate treatment in an emergency
