Job summary

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is seeking registered nurses to support pēpi and tamariki across Northland. You will build trusted relationships with whānau and provide evidence-based clinical care, education and health promotion in partnership with families.

This varied nursing role includes health assessments, immunisation support and connecting families with community services, working across clinics, communities and homes as needed.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Nursing Council Annual Practising Certificate.
• Commitment to culturally safe, whānau-centred care.
• Strong communication and ability to build relationships.
• Sound clinical judgement and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its health practice application.
• Full NZ driver licence and capability with digital systems.

Job description

We're lucky to have the opportunity to meet with the majority of Aotearoa's pēpi during their first five years. Join Te Whānau Āwhina Plunket as a Registered Nurse and help ensure every pēpi has the best possible start in life.

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We have a range of full-time and part-time opportunities, with a mix of permanent and fixed-term positions available across our teams in Northland.

As a Plunket Nurse, you will build trusted relationships with whānau, providing evidence-based clinical care, support and guidance throughout the early years of their child's development. You will work in partnership with families to understand their individual needs, identify their strengths and support them to achieve their aspirations for the health and wellbeing of their tamariki.

This varied and rewarding role includes conducting health and development assessments, providing education and health promotion, supporting immunisation, and connecting whānau with community services where needed. You may work across Plunket clinics, community locations and whānau homes.

Pay rates for our Registered Nurses are between $66,222 ($33.51 per hour) and$94,842 ($48.00 per hour) depending on experience

You will be a compassionate and confident Registered Nurse who is passionate about improving health outcomes for pēpi, tamariki and whānau.

You Will Also Bring

• A current New Zealand Nursing Council Annual Practising Certificate
• A commitment to providing culturally safe, whānau-centred care
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
• Sound clinical judgement and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a supportive team
• An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application within health practice
• A full New Zealand driver licence
• Confidence using digital systems to maintain accurate clinical records

Being an authorised vaccinator would be an advantage; however, we also welcome applications from nurses who are willing to complete the required training.

Experience in child, family, community, primary or public health nursing would be valuable, but it is not essential. We provide a comprehensive orientation and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role.
