Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Waikanae village to deliver high-quality aged care. You will participate in resident-directed care, develop care plans, and support families while guiding the care team.

Requirements include NZ Registration with Practicing Certificate, a passion for working with older people, and strong communication. The role offers 4 days on, 2 days off, with AM/PM shifts and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and Practising Certificate required.
• Interest in elder care and understanding of clinical services in a retirement village.
• Strong leadership, calm under pressure and emotional resilience.
• Excellent communication and ability to build rapport with residents, families and colleagues.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse at our growing Waikanae village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical Duties Include

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

The shift pattern and hours for this role are: 4 days on 2 days off, AM/PM Shifts.

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.
