We are a community-led, not-for-profit preschool where tamariki, whānau, and kaiako learn and grow together. Guided by Te Whāriki and inspired by te taiao, we provide meaningful learning opportunities that foster confidence, resilience, creativity, and a strong sense of belonging.
As a kaiako at Peninsula Early Learning, you will contribute to a nurturing and inclusive environment where children are empowered to explore, discover, and thrive. Working alongside our experienced teaching team, you will support high-quality teaching and learning through meaningful relationships, responsive practice, assessment, and intentional planning.
Key responsibilities include supporting children's learning through play-based experiences, contributing to planning and assessment, building strong relationships with tamariki and whānau, and embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi through everyday practice. You will also support our nature-based kaupapa by fostering children’s connection with the natural world, environmental awareness, and authentic outdoor learning experiences.
We're seeking a passionate kaiako with a recognised ECE qualification, current New Zealand Teacher Registration and Practising Certificate, and a sound understanding of Te Whāriki, to join our warm, supportive team.
Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, a love of nature, and a commitment to culturally responsive practice are essential.
If you value relationships, community, and nature-based learning, we'd love to hear from you. Applications will be reviewed as received, so we encourage early applications.
