Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children is seeking Allied Support Workers to back frontline Social Work teams. These roles provide administrative and coordination support, enabling Social Workers to focus on statutory duties.

Qualifications

• Social services qualification desirable.
• Clean, current driver’s licence essential.
• Experience working in the community.
• Experience with Māori and/or Pasifika cultures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel regionally and support across sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide regional support across the region based on priorities and demand, including travel.
• Support caregiver engagement, outreach and recruitment activities.
• Coordinate caregiver training and support learning initiatives.
• Assist with caregiver assessments, approvals, and ongoing support planning.
• Support placement and matching through information gathering and profile development.
• Foster positive relationships with caregivers, whānau and stakeholders.
• Occasionally work outside normal hours as required.
