Job summary

Oranga Tamariki - Ministry for Children is seeking a Caregiver Social Worker to recruit, assess and support caregivers who provide safe, nurturing homes for tamariki. You will work closely with our caregivers, whānau and other agencies to tailor support and ensure appropriate placements.

You will partner with the child's Social Worker, attend to assessment writing and case planning, and contribute to placement decisions within a supportive, values-driven team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Social Work qualification and be registered with the SWRB.
• Experience in caregiver recruitment and assessment is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid NZ driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, assess and support caregivers to provide safe, stable homes for tamariki.
• Partner with the child's Social Worker to develop tailored support plans.
• Collaborate with agencies and community groups to meet caregiver needs.
• Contribute to placement processes for Tamariki and Rangatahi.
