Job summary

Metlifecare is seeking an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations across a defined regional cluster. The role involves hands-on people leadership, driving profitability, quality, and regulatory compliance while delivering exceptional resident experiences.

Based in Wellington or Christchurch with potential for Newmarket location support, the role emphasises staff development, customer focus, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership in a large organisation.
• Strong operational management capability across multiple teams.
• Solid financial acumen with P&L and cost centre ownership.
• Ability to translate customer feedback into actionable plans.
• Experience coordinating external suppliers across categories.
• Understanding of H&S and disability regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Implement Premium Aged Care Strategy across a Metlifecare cluster.
• Ensure villages and care homes operate profitably, efficiently and compliantly.
• Drive development, coaching and retention of high-performing teams.
• Lead operational initiatives including process improvements and customer experience enhancements.
• Embed brand and value relaunch; drive ESG activities.
