Job summary

Equans New Zealand seeks a Refrigeration & HVAC Service Supervisor to lead the Palmerston North service team. You will mentor technicians, manage customer relationships, and coordinate scheduling and compliance across commercial sites.

The role blends hands-on HVACR work with people leadership, budgeting and service delivery. The position offers relocation assistance for the right candidate and a clear path for career progression within a global technical services leader.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning or HVAC.
• NZ EWRB registration (EST Practising Licence preferred).
• Minimum 3 years HVAC&R industry experience.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory or leadership experience.
• Experience across commercial and industrial HVAC&R service, maintenance and installations.
• Strong understanding of controls and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent customer relationships and communication skills.
• Current NZ Driver Licence or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing.

About the Role

As the Refrigeration & HVAC Service Supervisor, you'll play a crucial role in leading our local service team while maintaining strong customer relationships across commercial and industrial sites.

You'll divide your time between supporting technicians in the field and coordinating branch-based activities including compliance, quoting, scheduling and customer management.

This position works primarily Monday to Friday and participates in a rotating on-call roster that includes evenings and weekends.

About You

We're looking for a motivated leader who combines strong technical capability with excellent people skills.

Essential Requirements

• Trade qualification in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning or HVAC
• Ability to obtain New Zealand EWRB registration (EST Practising Licence preferred)
• Minimum 3 years' HVAC&R industry experience
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity
• Proven experience across commercial and industrial HVAC&R service, maintenance and installations
• Strong understanding of controls and Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent customer relationship and communication skills
• Current NZ Driver Licence or ability to obtain one
